Tips to Share the Google Form Quiz with Students:
- Open the Google Form quiz after you make a copy of it on your own Google Drive.
- Change the title of the quiz to meet your filename structure (or at least remove the "Copy of")
- Click on the 'Send' button located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- You'll see three options for sharing: via Email, via Link, or via Embed HTML.
- Via Email: Enter the email addresses of your students, add a message if you like, and click 'Send'.
- Via Link: Click on the link icon, and a unique URL will be generated. Click 'Copy' and share this link with your students through your preferred method (e.g., classroom website, chat, etc.).
- Via Embed HTML: If you have a classroom website, you can embed the form directly into a webpage by copying the HTML code provided.
- Once the form is shared, students can start filling it out. Their responses will be collected in real-time.
- To view responses, go back to your Google Form and click on the 'Responses' tab at the top of the page.
- Here, you'll see a summary of responses, individual responses, and an option to download responses into a Google Sheet for more detailed analysis.
- If you've enabled automatic grading (see below), the grades will also be visible under the 'Individual' section within the 'Responses' tab. You can review each student's answers and grades here.
How to use the Google Forms Self-Grading version:
- Open the Google Forms Quiz
- Click on the 'Settings' tab
- Under the 'Release grades' section, select 'Immediately after each submission'.
- Optional: You can also enable other 'RESPONDENT SETTINGS' such as:
-
- 'Missed questions' to show students which questions they got wrong.
- 'Correct answers' to reveal the correct answers to students.
- 'Point values' to show how many points each question is worth.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The default setting is that automatic grading is turned off. This is intentional for teachers who may want to wait until all students have completed the quiz before allowing automatic grading and revealing the correct answers. The answer key is already set up, and each question is worth 1 point. All you need to do is follow the steps above to enable automatic grading.
