Who we are

K12 Movie Guides is a small, teacher-led shop that sells digital resources (no physical shipping). We run our store on Shopify. Questions? info@k12movieguides.com

What we collect (the minimum we need)

  • Order details: name and email so we can deliver your digital files and receipts.
  • Payment details: processed securely by our payment providers; we don’t see full card numbers.
  • Basic usage data & cookies: things like pages viewed, cart/checkout status, and device/browser info to keep the store working and improve it.

How we use your information

  • Deliver your files and order confirmations.
  • Support & troubleshooting (e.g., resend links, fix a file).
  • Improve the site and prevent fraud.
  • Teacher updates (optional): only if you opt in; unsubscribe anytime.

What we don’t do

  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • We don’t collect student data or sensitive categories.

Cookies, analytics, and ads

  • We use required cookies so the store works (cart, checkout).
  • We may use analytics and, if enabled, advertising pixels (e.g., Meta/Google) to understand interest in our guides.
  • If we use cross-site advertising: you can manage preferences in our Cookie Settings and use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our footer. We honor browser Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by law.
  • If we turn off targeted ads, this section won’t apply beyond basic, required cookies.

Who processes your data

We use trusted providers to run the store and deliver purchases, including Shopify (store platform, checkout, hosting), payment processors, email services, and anti-fraud/analytics tools. They process your data on our behalf under strict agreements.

Data retention

  • Orders/receipts: up to 7 years (tax/audit).
  • Support emails: up to 24 months so we can help with re-downloads.
  • Analytics/cookies: per tool defaults or until you clear them.

Your choices & rights

  • Access a copy of your information.
  • Correct or delete your information (subject to legal/tax retention).
  • Opt out of marketing at any time (there’s an unsubscribe link in every email).

Security & where data is processed

We use industry-standard security and reputable vendors. Your data may be processed outside your country (for example, in the U.S. or Canada) solely to operate the store and deliver your purchases.

Children

Our resources are for educators. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we make material changes, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date.
