Watch it. Practice it. Master it. Bring Grade 4 science ideas to life with ten FireFlash animated learning packs: the complete free Energy Transfer pack and nine paid topics. Silent illustrated Learn cards build one science idea at a time. Review practice gives feedback and returns to missed ideas; Mastery offers independent practice for each student.
Ten Grade 4 FireFlash Packs Included
- Energy Transfer — Light, heat, sound and electricity transfer energy. Students compare observations, surface warming, vibration and circuit examples.
- Motion & Collisions — Students compare speeds, observe energy of motion and use fair collision tests and evidence to make predictions.
- Energy Conversions — Students observe a motor and hand-crank generator, then compare device goals, constraints, trials and revisions.
- Wave Properties — Students track traveling wave patterns, crest and trough, amplitude, wavelength and local movement of rope or water.
- Light & Reflection — Students trace light from a source to an ordinary object and into an eye, using barriers and mirrors to test a model.
- Light & Sound Signals — Students encode and decode light flashes and sound taps, then compare signal designs using a shared code and fair trials.
- Structures & Functions — Students connect plant and animal parts such as roots, duck feet, shells, hearts and lungs to useful functions.
- Animal Senses — Students follow sensory clues through sensing, brain processing and response using examples from six animals.
- Weathering & Erosion — Students distinguish weathering, transport and deposition, then compare fair tests of water, wind, slope and ground cover.
- Earthquakes & Volcanoes — Students interpret earthquake, volcano, mountain, ridge and trench map patterns and the limits of map evidence.
Two Ways to Teach With FireFlash
- Online — individual student practice: Teachers set up authorized access and share a student link or QR code. Students work through Learn → Review → Mastery in the browser, receive feedback and can print or save an eligible-session completion certificate. No student accounts or subscription are required; an internet connection is needed.
- Offline — teacher-led projection: Each included pack has a self-contained Offline Full HTML file. Open it locally for guided classroom discussion on a projector or interactive screen. It does not issue an individual student certificate or synchronize grades.
Exactly What Is Included
Ten individual pack downloads—one for each Grade 4 topic. Each individual FireFlash pack includes four classroom files:
- Offline Full HTML: self-contained animated cards for teacher-led group use.
- Start Here & Teacher Guide PDF: concise access, setup and teaching directions.
- Student Check PDF: optional printable practice check.
- Answer Key PDF: separate teacher reference.
The bundle also includes a separate fulfillment component for bundle-access instructions. Keep any purchaser unlock information private and follow the seller-provided setup directions. The offline and online formats are different experiences and do not share a student gradebook.
Ways Teachers Can Use the Series
- Introduce or reinforce a science idea through a silent illustrated example and classroom discussion.
- Use short, flexible review segments after instruction, during small-group practice or for an absent student.
- Assign the authorized hosted packs for student-paced review and revisit ideas that needed another attempt.
- Project a pack’s offline HTML with no internet connection after downloading the file.
Each pack is designed for Grade 4 readers. You can spread a pack across one or more sessions; no fixed completion time is promised.
NGSS Alignment
The FireFlash cards support selected Grade 4 NGSS concepts and practices rather than claiming to fulfill entire performance expectations. They work alongside, not instead of, hands-on investigations, model building, and engineering design activities.
- Physical Science: Supports concepts connected to 4-PS3-1, 4-PS3-2, 4-PS3-3, 4-PS3-4 and 4-PS4-1, 4-PS4-2, 4-PS4-3.
- Life Science: Supports concepts connected to 4-LS1-1 and 4-LS1-2.
- Earth Science: Supports concepts connected to 4-ESS2-1 and 4-ESS2-2.
- Engineering design: Light & Sound Signals also supports elements of 3-5-ETS1-2 and 3-5-ETS1-3.
Access, Download and Classroom License
This is a one-time digital purchase with no recurring FireFlash subscription. Each paid pack’s online access is authorized through the teacher’s private unlock setup. Teachers should share student access links, not the private purchaser unlock code. The downloaded offline files support licensed teacher-led classroom use; redistribution or resale is not permitted.
The hosted completion certificate is a record of the finished practice session, including first attempts and retries; it does not automatically send scores to a teacher dashboard. The offline files do not issue individual completion certificates.
