This Don Quixote Movie Guide (NR – 2015) challenges students to explore themes of illusion vs. reality, chivalry, and the power of imagination. Discuss the implications of his actions for himself and those around him, including his faithful squire Sancho and his worried niece Antonia. Analyze the contrasts between Sancho’s practical outlook and Don Quixote’s idealistic pursuits by analyzing quotes from the movie. Debate whether Don Quixote’s quests are purely delusional or if they hold a deeper significance in challenging societal norms and pursuing personal ideals. Should people pursue their dreams no matter how fanciful? Is chivalry dead? Should it be?

Tips for using this Don Quixote Movie Guide (NR - 2015) in your classroom:

    • Print one, double-sided movie guide for each student
    • Preview each question on the movie guide as you come to it before resuming the movie
