The course is designed to help students reason from evidence while keeping nation-specific scope, sovereignty, identity, policy, law, land, continuity, and Indigenous perspectives visible rather than flattening Native histories into one story.

Course Structure
- Unit 1 | Episodes #01-08 | Native Nations, Identity, Land & Knowledge: sovereignty, identity, cultural diversity, land, archaeology/repatriation, and Indigenous knowledge.
- Unit 2 | Episodes #09-16 | Colonization, Federal Indian Policy, Resistance & Rights: treaty rights, contact, removal, boarding schools, reorganization, termination, civil rights, and federal Indian law.
- Unit 3 | Episodes #17-24 | Native Nations Today: Community, Resurgence & the Future: relocation, Alaska and Hawaiʻi, Indigenous women, tribal governments, language revitalization, Land Back, representation, and climate knowledge.
Assessment System
Weekly assessments W01-W05 each include 12 vocabulary terms, 10 A/B written-response questions, and 30 multiple-choice questions. Unit assessments U01-U03 each include 15 vocabulary terms, 12 A/B written-response questions, and 40 multiple-choice questions. The cumulative Final includes 20 vocabulary terms, 15 A/B written-response questions, and 60 multiple-choice questions.
Week 6: Episodes #21-24 are taught on Days 1-4 and the cumulative Final is the default Day 5 assessment. There is intentionally no separate W06 weekly bank. U03 remains available as a flexible Unit 3 checkpoint, review, or alternate assessment.
Flexible Classroom Use
Use the course as a six-week supplemental sequence, a Native American History/Indigenous Studies course component, a U.S. History integration, long-term substitute plan, credit-recovery sequence, summer-school unit, or compressed review. Teacher Guides and assessment banks are item-rich by design, so teachers can assign the full set or select the questions that fit their schedule.
Optional Classroom Video Guide Companion
Use the free Classroom Video Guide Companion Chrome extension with YouTube to automatically pause at question timestamps and display prompts during viewing. It can make whole-class, small-group, and independent lessons easier to facilitate, but the resource works normally without it.
