Classroom Use at a Glance
60-minute teacher PD simulation on phone-policy enforcement, teacher authority, student privacy, delayed support, and protecting instruction. Includes professional noticing, four progressive reps with debriefs, a critical-contrast replay, closing reflection/transfer evidence, a completion record, Professional Learning Certificate of Completion, and Administrator PD Approval Sheet.
Practice a real teaching decision instead of just reading about one. The Phone Power Struggle is a designed 60-minute Classroom Reps professional-learning simulation in which educators notice classroom cues, choose plausible responses, observe consequences, reassess, recover when needed, compare a critical contrast, and connect the learning to their own setting.
60-minute teacher PD simulation on phone-policy enforcement, teacher authority, student privacy, delayed support, and protecting instruction.
What you will practice
- Identifying teacher authority and limits before acting on phone noncompliance
- Separating observed use, visibility, refusal, later compliance, and peer attention
- Preserving instruction and procedural fidelity while support is delayed
- Applying documented exceptions fairly while protecting student privacy
How the 60-minute module works
- Orientation + policy-card professional noticing - 5 minutes
- Rep 1 + debrief - 8 minutes
- Rep 2 + debrief - 8 minutes
- Rep 3 + debrief - 9 minutes
- Rep 4 exception/privacy transfer + debrief - 9 minutes
- Same-policy critical-contrast replay - 9 minutes
- Paired closing reflection + local-policy connection - 12 minutes
Scenario setup: In a grades 8–12 cross-curricular setting, students move from teacher-led explanation into independent work while the teacher applies the school's phone procedure.
